Papalotes Rug

This rug is woven by The Zapotec Indians of Oaxaca. Known as "people of the clouds" raise sheep, hand card and spin their wool, dying the yarn using colorfast vegetal and aniline dyes. 

Using time-honored traditions, they hand-weave each rug creating a one-of-a-kind piece with designs ranging from traditional to contemporary. 

This 100% wool hand-woven rug was created on an upright pedal loom and took 1 to 3 months to complete
