For Kaelyn Kennedy, founder of TKEQ, horses didn't just become a passion—they became the foundation for the business she's built and the career she's created.

We asked Kaelyn our five questions.

Here's what she shared.

1. What is your first horse memory?

Kaelyn's first memories begin at just five years old, when her mom enrolled her in riding lessons.

More than the riding itself, she remembers the feeling of arriving at the barn.

"Going to the barn always felt like I was traveling to a different world."

For a young horse girl, it became a place that felt separate from everything else. A world where the everyday disappeared and horses took center stage.

2. How does being involved in the horse community inspire you in your day-to-day life?

As a junior rider, Kaelyn learned one lesson that has stayed with her ever since:

Success wasn't measured by shortcuts or instant gratification. It came from showing up, investing hours in and out of the saddle, and trusting that the work would eventually pay off.

That mindset has followed her far beyond the barn.

The horse world taught her patience, responsibility, and the value of investing in something long before you see the reward.

"Your investment always returns ten-fold."

3. How do you make time for horses alongside a busy life or career?

For Kaelyn, horses didn't compete with her career — they inspired it.

She launched TKEQ during her final junior year, and as the business grew, her time in the saddle naturally became more limited.

Building a company meant trading riding hours for long days behind the scenes.

But horses have a way of waiting for you.

When TKEQ recently opened a warehouse in Wellington, Florida, Kaelyn found herself with the opportunity to ride again after five years away. She leased a horse with modest expectations: walk, trot, canter, maybe a small jump or two before the winter season ended.

Instead, she found herself competing at WEF.

A true full-circle moment.

Her biggest takeaway?

"The best thing about the horse world is you can come back (in any capacity)
when it's right for you and your life."

4. What would your ultimate horse-inspired holiday look like?

A winery tour on horseback through Bordeaux.

For Kaelyn, it combines everything she loves: horses, beautiful scenery, incredible food, rich culture, and the slower pace that comes with exploring somewhere on horseback.

Sounds like the perfect adventure.

5. What’s the one essential you always keep in your ring bag or barn bag?

A good lip balm and a claw clip.
